Terms & Conditions for Event Organisers

Events4Kids is a platform that helps home education event organisers promote events,
accept bookings, and manage ticket sales through a clear and trusted system.

These Terms apply if you:

  • Create an account as an event organiser
  • List or advertise events on Events4Kids
  • Accept bookings or payments through the platform

They explain how listings, bookings, payments, and responsibilities work when you use Events4Kids.

Booking tickets as a parent or guardian?

If you are booking tickets rather than listing events, these Terms do not apply to you.

Your role as an organiser

Events listed on Events4Kids are run by independent event organisers.
You are responsible for planning, delivering, and managing your events.

Many events take place at third-party venues where the venue manages insurance,
safeguarding, and health & safety arrangements. In all cases, responsibility
sits with the event organiser and/or venue, not Events4Kids.

Creating and managing event listings

When creating a listing, you agree to provide clear, accurate, and up-to-date information,
including dates, times, location, pricing, age suitability, and any requirements for attendees.

You are responsible for keeping your listing up to date by editing it directly within your account.

Events4Kids may make minor edits to improve clarity or consistency for families.
Listings that contain significant issues or cause booking confusion may be placed into draft
until updated.

Ticketing and bookings

Events4Kids is designed to allow families to book events easily at the point they discover them.

If an event requires payment, tickets must be available to book directly through the Events4Kids listing.

Paid event listings must not:

  • Ask families to email, message, or contact you to book
  • Include instructions such as “pay on the door” or “book via our website”
  • Redirect customers elsewhere to complete payment

You are free to advertise and sell tickets through other platforms or channels.
Events4Kids does not restrict this.

Fees and payments

Events4Kids does not charge upfront listing fees.

For paid events, a platform fee of 3.5% is deducted from each ticket sold
through Events4Kids. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.

Stripe’s processing fees are also deducted automatically. Organisers should factor both
the Events4Kids platform fee and Stripe’s fees into their ticket pricing.

Remaining funds are paid directly into your connected Stripe account.
Events4Kids does not hold organiser funds.

Free events

There is no fee to list genuinely free events on Events4Kids.
Organisers can use the full Events4Kids booking system for free when running free events.

This includes the ability to:

  • Create free tickets and manage attendee numbers
  • Collect booker details, including email addresses
  • Send booking confirmations automatically
  • Use the QR code check-in scanner at the event

Free events listed on Events4Kids must remain free to book through the platform.
No payment may be requested outside Events4Kids for events marked as free.

All event organisers, including those running free events, are required to connect
a Stripe account when creating an organiser account.

Connecting Stripe does not mean you are required to charge for events.
It allows organisers to use the full booking system at no cost for free events,
provides basic identity verification for the organiser account,
and enables the option to offer paid tickets in the future without reconfiguring their account.

Events4Kids does not take a percentage or charge any fees on free events.

Refunds, cancellations, and changes

Most home education events involve upfront planning, preparation, venue costs,
and limited group sizes. For this reason, the default position on Events4Kids
is that tickets are non-refundable unless you choose to offer refunds
and clearly state this on your event listing.

If an event is cancelled, postponed, or significantly changed, you are responsible
for notifying booked attendees directly and explaining the options available to them.

Suggested refund wording for your event listings

Organisers may copy and paste the following wording into their event FAQs if helpful:

Refunds: Tickets are non-refundable, as places are limited and
planning and venue costs are committed in advance. If the event is cancelled or
rescheduled, you will be contacted directly with the available options.

Communication with attendees

You are responsible for responding to reasonable attendee enquiries and for sharing
any important event-specific information.

Platform standards

To maintain a clear and trustworthy experience for families, Events4Kids may remove
or pause listings that are misleading, incomplete, or cause booking confusion.

Liability and responsibility

Events4Kids provides the platform for listing and booking events but does not run,
supervise, or insure events unless explicitly stated.

You remain responsible for your event and for any arrangements made with venues or third parties.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Events4Kids
means you accept the latest version.
